CPP Partners with Local Charity for Holiday Outreach

December, 27, 2011 --

It’s that time of the year, and the staff at CPP like to give back. We always have a fundraiser during the holidays, but this year we wanted to do something with a local focus…to make a difference in our own neighborhood. And we are so glad we found Metrocrest Social Services.

They’re based in our area, and do amazing work throughout the year for the people of our community, so the decision just seemed perfect. According to the Metrocrest website, the charity serves an average of 130 families a week, distributing more than 25 pounds of food per person. In 2010, Metrocrest distributed more than 1,500 boxes of food to families in need during the holidays.

The first half of December, we conducted a Holiday Food Drive designed to help local families have a better holiday. We also sent out information to our staff about the important work of Metrocrest, along with regular messages about the rising problem of hunger in America, as well as statistics about hunger in Texas.

All CPP employees, along with the three sales divisions, TransTech Merchant Group, ISIS Direct and Summit Merchant Solutions, participated in this holiday campaign.

The results? Our employees donated nearly 700 pounds of food, along with more than $1,400. Awesome!

Thanks to Metrocrest for the great work you do in our area, and thanks to our employees for your kindness and generosity.

From the Metrocrest Social Services website: Metrocrest Social Services stands ready to help families through their emergencies and to plan for a more secure future. Through our assistance with rent, utility payments, food, clothing, medical prescriptions, and more, we truly prevent families from being homeless. Our Employment Program provides individuals with support for a successful work search in the form of resume assistance and individual job leads, gasoline vouchers and bus passes. In addition we have programs to assist families in successfully managing financially stressful seasons.
